Thirdly, MindView 3 Business includes a new calculation module. This module allows users to associate numbers with each Mind Map branch and to instantly perform complex calculations. The data can then be exported to an Excel spreadsheet with the simple click of a mouse. Conversely, users can also import numbers from Excel to MindView. This new calculation module makes budgeting, forecasting and calculating costs faster and easier than ever!

Office 2007 Interface

MindView 3’s brand new user interface lets you visualize your ideas and produce professional results quickly and easily. Based on the Microsoft Office 2007 Fluent™ user interface, it provides an uncluttered, user-friendly workspace that makes it easy to find and use any of MindView’s impressive range of features.

Commands are organized on task-oriented tabs and in sets of related options so you can find exactly what you need – fast.
MindView 3 offers new styles, boundaries, and backgrounds, as well as enhanced formatting options.
A simple to use numbering scheme makes it easy to visualize how branches will be exported.

Design and Layouts

The Microsoft Office 2007 Fluent user interface is the ideal way to effectively design and format your maps. Choose from MindView’s extensive selection of layouts and styles and easily apply effects and formatting on the fly.

Select a Layout



MindView lets you choose from a wide variety of layouts, including a new layout for Top Down, where sub-branches run horizontally, and various timeline layouts. Most importantly, MindView lets you preview how your map will look in your chosen layout before you select it!

Apply a Style



Once you’ve selected a layout, MindView lets you instantly change its look and feel by simply applying one of our pre-defined styles. Simply hover over a style icon to preview its appearance before selecting.

Customize the Map



MindView makes it easy to add effects like background patterns or numbering schemes to your map with a simple click of your mouse. It also lets you effortlessly change the shapes of your main branches using the design tab. Fast and effective customization of your map helps you get your message across clearly – every time!

Focus Mode



MindView’s Focus mode ensures that your map will be easily legible to all viewers. Simply click on the branch you want to spotlight, and your map is instantly centered on that branch. The zoom factor is also adjusted automatically for maximum visibility.

Collaboration through SharePoint

Collaboration is the key to the success of any project. MindView 3 is a highly effective collaboration tool that supports SharePoint and WebDAV, so you can upload documents directly to a SharePoint or WebDAV server. Attached files are embedded in the self-contained MindView file.

Numbering Scheme



MindView comes with various numbering schemes that let you clarify the order of your map’s branches and make it easy to understand how the branches will be exported. On a timeline, a numbering scheme is useful to identify which branches (events) belong together.

Taking Timelines to the Next Level!

Timeline Layouts



MindView 3 provides several timeline layout options and gives you a preview of your timeline before any layout is applied. Since every timeline requires different graphical elements to effectively tell its story, MindView lets you select the layout that best meets your needs!



Once you’ve selected your timeline layout, you can easily customize it by simply selecting a style, applying a numbering scheme, turning duration bars on or off and so on. Individual colors can also be applied to each event (branch) for further definition.

Improved Timeline Editing

With MindView 3, editing your timeline is faster and easier than ever! Now you can drag and drop events (branches) directly onto your timeline without re-entering time information in the time information panel. Simply click on the time axis and a dialog box will pop up, asking for the name of the event and its associated time. Just enter your data and you’re done!

Advanced Filter Functions



The new MindView filter lets you define specific criteria and then display only the branches of your document that meet those criteria. For example, filters allow you to display only branches containing a specific label or timeline events that begin on a specific date. You can even combine a range of criteria in the same filter, define several different filters, and save filters for future use.

New Icons

MindView features many brand new icons, including dynamic icons that allow you to quickly increase or decrease priority numbers, completion levels, or other values by simply clicking the icon.

Calculation




MindView 3 Business Edition allows you to add numeric values to the branches of your Mind Map, for example sales numbers, costs, exchange rates and so on, and also formulas to carry out calculations on the values. Built-in functions allow you to display values automatically rolled up from lower sub-branches to higher ones. You enter values using the Calculation panel, conveniently accessed from a tab on the right of the workspace.

Values appear on the Mind Map under the branch labels. For any branch, you can choose to display or hide the values as you wish.

Excel export and import




With MindView 3 Business Edition you can export your Mind Map as a Microsoft® Excel spreadsheet and import an Excel spreadsheet as a Mind Map. Values and formulas (provided they are supported by MindView) are preserved. If for instance you have created a Mind Map to track worldwide sales, you can export it as an Excel spreadsheet in order to continue working directly in Excel.



When exporting, you can choose from several professionally designed templates to enhance the look of the spreadsheet.
