Special info for system administrators:

To patch the admin installation of MindView 4 Business:

1. Choose Start - Run
2. Type: msiexec /p <path to .msp file> /a <path to admin .msi file>
   Note: This only applies to admin installations of MindView 4, i.e. installed with:
   <x>:\install\setup.exe /a
   where 'x' = CD-ROM drive letter

This Service Pack contains the following changes:

New Features

• Bibliography/Citation feature, insert sources and citations and export to Word keeping the information. Bibliography sources can be searched directly within MindView through WorldCat®.
• Import resources from Active Directory now include email.
• Microsoft Word Export

• New Templates included
• The Simple Interface can now be toggled on/off from the Ribbon.
• Linked files used from an "Additional Folder" can now be moved to another location by changing the additional folder source. This is done from the Additional Folders Dialog by double-clicking the original additional folder entry and selecting the new folder. All linked files are then updated to the new location.
• The Text Note icon of the Home and Insert tab now contains a sub-menu New/Edit.

• The branch attached objects list is now less pixelated when working in 16 bit colors.
• SharePoint: It is now possible for the user to re-open documents that had stayed locked after a connection failure.
• When the Windows Taskbar is in auto-hide mode (Windows 7) it is now possible to open the task bar by moving the mouse towards the taskbar.
• Spell check options are now working as expected.
• Many other usability and internal issues have been corrected.

Business Edition:

• Filter: It is now possible to filter on custom icons.
• Shared Workspace:
• Branch locks can now also list external users.
• Task distribution is now able to handle single quotes in document names.
• Microsoft Outlook: Microsoft Exchange resources are now handled correctly during synchronization.

Service Pack 2:

• Outlook 2010 import: Fixed a crash which occurred when importing from Outlook where an email was attached to a task.
• MindView now works correctly with Microsoft SharePoint.
• When importing from MindManager text notes were sometimes inserted twice. This is now fixed.
• Export to Microsoft Project 2010 now works correctly
• Branches now positioned correctly after saving in manual layout mode.
• Ribbon now re-hides correctly when it is hidden when using the Format Tab
• Fixed a crash which could occur when deleting attachments from branches
• XML Export now works correctly
• Email Hyperlinks now work correctly on branches

Matchware Shared Workspace

• Task data now updated correctly for other users when updated via the Task Information Dialog.
• File Opening optimised for large documents.
• Project management is now enabled automatically for other users when switching to project management mode.
• When a custom icon is created on one machine and sent to another via the shared workspace, other users can now delete/replace it correctly.
• Progress bar added for opening online.
• Users within a shared document can now correctly scroll around the document independently of each other.

Pen Mode

• When editing Branch text there is now a check mark to confirm changes
• Ink Tools: You are now able to switch the branch label from ink to text using the ‘Convert Branch Ink to Text’ button
• Fixed an issue whereby the Pen Mode ceased to function correctly when disabling simplified UI

Project Management Mode

• Gantt View: Ctrl + Home will now take you to the top of the Gantt chart

 

Service Pack 1:

• Timeline: Work week is now from Monday to Monday
• Options: Update check can now be disabled without causing a crash
• Filter is now able to handle special characters such as the following: ^.$|()[]*+?/\
• PowerPoint: Import from PowerPoint now saves images with a higher resolution so that they do not look distorted.
• Pressing ‘Delete’ now updates the spelling underline
• When saving a file with many branch text notes, this would, in rare cases, make MindView close unexpectedly.  This is now fixed.
• Word Import: Floating images are now inserted near the branch when imported
• Multimedia Catalog: Thumbnails are no longer distorted
• Pen Mode: Ink as Text is now less pixelated
• Text note editor: The problem whereby the spelling underlines are inserted sporadically has now been resolved
• Shared Workspace
  - Changing view will no longer stop other users from opening the document
  - Saving local document to Shared workspace now automatically embeds all files.
• Numbering Schema is now top aligned with the branch text when the branch has multiple lines
• Enhancements have been made to the Presentation Mode
• Comments are now handled correctly and will not over write each other when hovering quickly between several comments.
• Text note editor now handles changing fonts from within the Gantt view correctly
• Better integration with SMART® boards
• Miscellaneous performance enhancements
• Many other usability and internal issues have been corrected.

Business Edition updates

• Moving a branch which has a successor to the branch which it is moved to is now handled as expected and will not make MindView close unexpectedly.
• Calendar can now be reset to default
• Task Distribution: Misc. fixes
• Enhancements made for Outlook synchronization (Text notes are now exported correctly, tasks are no longer duplicated)
• Enhancements to Excel import/export
• Misc. bugs fixed in the Gantt reports

New Features

• A simplified UI is now available in the Business Edition
• 3 new templates have been added
• It is now possible to swap to Gantt view even though you are not in PM mode. This will give you the same warning dialog as when enabling Project Management.
